Senior Visual Designer

Designerds has an immediate opening for a highly skilled and organized Senior Visual Designer to join our remote team. The Senior Visual Designer role requires experience within a Creative/Marketing/Advertising Agency, expertise in graphic/visual design, and experience with 2D animation. You must have agency or equivalent in-house experience to be considered for this position. Previous U.S. and remote work experience is required.

Our longer-term offering allows our clients to access full-time design support every day, and we are able to scale this coverage rapidly when needed. It also lets our designers gain a breadth of experience working with top brands across a variety of projects.
As a Designerd, you'll join a team of passionate individuals including creative and art directors, designers, project managers, copywriters, and marketing experts. You'll work on a wide variety of project types, either "in-house" under the guidance of our Creative Director, or directly with our clients as an extension of their team. In either setting, you'll always have the full support of your Designerds colleagues — we collaborate daily and are always on hand to help you manage your time and workload, develop as a designer, and have a blast doing it.

Job Description
The ideal Visual Designer candidate is a creative problem-solver who is flexible, organized, and detail-oriented. This position requires a working understanding of (and willingness to grow in) production design, digital design (including web and UI/UX), corporate identity, marketing/advertising, and product design as we serve clients in a myriad of diverse industries. Print and packaging experience is a plus. Visual Designers should ultimately have strong graphic design and layout skills, with an excellent understanding of industry standard communication design principles.

Additionally, our remote environment demands a high level of professionalism when it comes to communication, both internally and externally. All designers, regardless of seniority, are expected to interface directly with clients and represent the Designerds brand well. The ability to proactively and clearly communicate, present your work, and follow instructions thoroughly are requirements to succeed in this role.

Required Experience, Skills and Education

4+ years of experience as a visual designer in a Creative Agency, In-House Design Team, or equivalent

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Graphic Design or Visual Design

Advanced Knowledge of Design Tools:

Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects

Sketch and Figma

Google Suite: G-Slides, G-Drive, Sheets and Docs

Presentation Software: PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides

Excellent oral and written English communication skills; strong interpersonal skills

Ability to speak/hear clearly in video conference (zoom/Google meet)

Flexible availability to work 9-5pm M-F in various time zones (PST, CST, EST) depending on the client's needs.

This position requires all staff to work a U.S. schedule (only U.S. holidays observed)

Responsibilities

Develop effective, on-brand, and on-strategy creative including (but not limited to): concepts, sketches, storyboards, wireframes, final digital assets (i.e. landing pages, banners, graphics, packaging renders, resized assets, social media graphics, banner ads, illustrations, simple animations/gifs) etc.

Work in small, remote, client-directed design teams

Conduct oneself in a professional manner and represent Designerds well

Communicate directly with client teams and Designerds coworkers in a clear, professional and timely manner via Slack, email and video conferencing

Work independently as well as part of a team to complete daily design requests

Work closely with pod lead, manager, and other team members to service client needs, drive growth, innovation and company culture

Be comfortable with evolving work environments, reallocations of client designations and shifting priorities

Be committed to growing in one’s craft and refining skillsets, as well as be willing to learn new tools and abilities as needed
