In-house creative teams are tasked with a herculean undertaking when it comes to supporting design needs across their entire organization.
Expected to deliver continually for a variety of departments, initiatives and regions — and a multitude of stakeholders sometimes with conflicting expectations and overlapping timelines — many of these internal teams eventually flounder under a deluge of projects while simultaneously struggling to keep staffed up and sufficiently trained.
If this sounds like a problem you’re familiar with, then you know all too well the challenges that come with addressing bandwidth, fulfilling internal deadlines, and keeping team morale up. Left unchecked, designers eventually get overwhelmed, look elsewhere and leave. And you find yourself caught in an endless cycle of churn and burn — recruiting, training, onboarding, repeat.
New joiners often produce far less in the first few months. Plus, hours — sometimes days — are devoted to their training. Contractors and vendors can help fill the gaps temporarily but also require time for vetting, negotiating terms and onboarding.
The way we work has shifted irrevocably toward more remote, flexible, scalable and multi-disciplinary options. Shouldn’t your ability to source design talent adapt accordingly?
What if we told you there was a simpler way to get work done and avoid all of these frustrations?
We're introducing a new "Design-as-a-Service" subscription that embeds agency-trained creative professionals directly within your team.
Our unique model gives you access to a host of brilliant designers, animators, copywriters and project managers who immerse themselves in your brand, guidelines and processes — acting as an extension of your own creative team.
Welcome to Designerds.
Hold on — Design-as-a-Service?
Yes! Just as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) allows businesses to access digital tools and scale their usage without battling compatibility and portability, our “Design-as-a-Service” offering connects in-house creative teams with top-tier talent knowledgeable in their brand — without the hassle of sourcing, hiring, and onboarding them.
This subscription-based model is organized into three tiers, giving you the option to choose your level of engagement based on what you need right now, plus the flexibility to scale up or down as those needs change.

Say hello to flexible, scalable teams… and goodbye to downtime!
Designerds engagements are structured around seats, like a typical SaaS subscription. Here’s how this benefits you:
Tap into top-tier talent: We’ve amassed some absolutely brilliant creatives — illustrators, animators, art directors, and more — to offer our clients a wellspring of design skill and expertise.
The end of downtime: We train a full team in your brand giving you uninterrupted creative support with each Designerd seat. No more planning around sick days, holidays or unforeseen events.
Burnout be gone: Our rotational approach cycles new talent into your team at set intervals, giving designers the opportunity to work across a variety of projects while also providing you with fresh creative perspectives.
Seamlessly scalable: Big project looming on the horizon? Our team can help you quickly expand your support from a pool of talent already trained in the nuances of your brand, internal processes and tools — whether in a subscription or ad-hoc capacity.
Powered by a full-service creative agency: Built out of the ATOMIC D agency, we can help you quickly activate additional services — copywriting, art direction, marketing, project management — to complement an existing engagement or support a one-off project.

So who are these Designerds, anyway?
They’re our hand-selected dream team of creative talent with a collective expertise that includes illustration, animation, video production, branding, retouching, and beyond.
Beside housing some pretty badass visual designers, our team is also equipped to provide 360° support across every aspect of the creative process, from concept to presentation and delivery. You name it, we’ve got ‘em — copywriters, art directors, and project managers — all on hand to ensure your vision is perfectly realized.
We’re a creative-led agency: we eat, sleep, and breathe our respective crafts. We know what your needs are — and we know how to solve them.
We’re able to accomplish this not only by being awesome at what we do, but also through rigorous preparation, training and attention to detail throughout every step of the process.
What it looks like in practice
Wondering what a Designerd engagement will look like for your team? Take a look how we’ve worked with some of today’s top brands:
A global social media platform reached out in mid 2020 for assistance producing a timely out-of-home campaign, encouraging mask-wearing at the height of the pandemic. We supplied two Designerds seats and worked in partnership with the brand’s creative directors to get the job done, producing hundreds of deliverables over just a few days. The content was seen larger-than-life in numerous cities nationwide, and public response was huge.
An American retail giant needed assistance with the ongoing production of on- and offsite advertising in support of their own brand partners. Our engagement included copywriting, art direction and project management to produce these ads — from kick-off to delivery, and every step in between. The engagement continues to expand, and we’ve created new efficiencies within the team’s workflow that they hadn't realized before working with Designerds. This gave us an opportunity to improve both our own process and our partner’s.
What about one-off design projects?
We’re happy to handle individually scoped projects through the ATOMIC D agency, and clients don’t have to choose exclusively between Designerds support and project-based work.
As a matter of fact, oftentimes our relationship with a client will begin with a project-based engagement — large or small. As the engagement comes to a close, clients often discover that they need additional resources to support these projects past contract end dates, and so a Designerds engagement begins. Alternatively, clients already working with Designerds may require additional support for one-off projects, and we can scope these individually.
In short, don’t feel boxed in. We’ll scale our support to make sure we’ve got you covered.
